Hi,

Could somebody tell me how to import footage from Photos App (Mac) into the FCP library? When opening the photos browser in FCP I can drag the video footage only into the timeline, but not into my library. According to the below source this should be possible however!?
support.apple.com/kb/PH12747?locale=en_US

Thanks,
Fabian

Easy; grab the photo, start dragging left. The Library browser will suddenly appear. Drop it into an Event, and the Library browser disappears, you're back in the photo browser.

I'm pretty sure you have to drag onto an event and not a library to import.

Ah! You're on 10.2! When you drag a file from Photo browser into a Timeline, a copy is automatically placed in that Event. You don't need to do it yourself.

@fabyoga
A library only contains events no media (photos, videos, sounds).
An event contains media and projects.
In 10.2, EditorGuy has told you what happens. Maybe you can try as you have done but into an event (not sure that work).
In 10.3, drag the photo to the left, events appears on the background and you can add the photo into the library without using the timeline.

My answer is a mix from french and english...sorry.
