Audio Lanes are a life saver! was created by Vlastavision
I've already migrated 2 of my projects to FCPX 10.3 and my life has already been made better by Audio Lanes! Especially the way you can make a compound clip from the entire project and then show audio roles and subroles! This feature is going to spare me so much trouble. It's an absolute lifesaver. Brilliantly thought through.

Not sure of the practical application, but once you've applied effects and key framed adjustments in those "audio components", which each lane holds, Detach Audio. Then select the video portion of the Compound, Break Apaet Clip Items. Your Compound mix is intact, but the now separated video clips have no audio. It's a cool pallor trick, not sure what practical application there is.
Note, as of now, you can't send that Compound mix to Logic or PT, it's locked inside the Compound container. But then again, the Compound mix do those audio components is what I'd have done in those other apps anyway.

I still didn't export anything. I didn't realize that you can't send the compound mix to PT I thought that was a given. That's a shame!

Well, think about it. Why would you send the Cc to PT in the first place? To do the mix you're doing with the audio components in the lanes. Because if you sent the raw CC to PT or Logic, you just get the original audio clips arranged in appropriate tracks.

Yeah, the compound clip lanes are more meant for doing final mixes in FCPX I guess. I do my mixing within the app, and i Logic sometimes, but for more serious projects I send to a sound guy, he'll love the roles.

if you or the post audio person wanted your cc plugins & /or levels
then you could always create a 'dummy' audio event that covers the whole length of the project
then copy the cc audio attributes to the dummy for reference or use in the other apps.
I could see this being useful when someone makes a temp mix using cc in fcpx...
then wanting to later do a more polished mix or add more sound design & music tracks in LogicPro or ProTools. More useful if the same fcpx editor is doing the sweetening. Usually someone else wouldn't want your temp mix plugins & level automation.
