Library won't start was created by massimo.mucchiut
Dear all,
I can't seem to find a solution for a problem that's freaking me out.
A library I had multiple export in the queue at some point froze (nothing new). So I restarted FCPX and after since I can't open the library no longer.
I tried trashing the preferences, rebooting, repairing permissions, opening an autosave. Nothing worked.
The ball keeps rolling and nothing happens.
Any guess?
Thank you very much in advance!
Best
Massimo

Hi Massimo,
R-click your Library in Finder and choose "Show Package Contents".
Take a screenshot of the Library content and post it so we can see what's happening.

Okay, the first thing we will try is to trash the CurrentVersion.flexolibrary file.
Make sure FCP X is closed, go inside the Library and put the CurrentVersion.flexolibrary file to the trash.
Then launch FCP X and wait until the database gets restored. Helps in many cases, but not always.
If this does not work, post back.

Try refreshing your FCP X preferences :
Close FCP X, then open it again while holding the ALT+CMD keys pressed down. You will get a message asking if you want to delete your preferences. Confirm and let FCP X open. It will open with an empty Library. Then try to open the problematic Library. If the problematic Library does not open right away and FCP freezes, go grab a coffee and wait at least 10 minutes before you force-quit. FCP X needs to check and restore the complete Library database, this can take some time.
If this does not solve your issue, post back for the next step.

Hey Massimo,
I just noticed on your screenshot that you are using an old version of FCP X, is that correct?
If so, I would advise you to update to the latest version (10.2.3). Updates are free, and this may immediately solve your problem.

Yes, Ronny is correct. And that is WAY better than my solution, which involves a sledge hammer.

Thank you both!
Hammer is next on the list
(and always in my mind).
I don't want to update at least till I close a few more projects.
If nothing else will work, I'll try this way.
