10.3 is not out yet, so no-one will be able to answer this.
OTOH, it's always better to use a dedicated DCP application to create DCP packages from you master file. There are a lot of such applications now, from free ones (OpenDCP, DCP-O-Matic...) to paid ones. Wraptor from Quvis is an advanced DCP plugin for Compressor, and it works really well.
Also to consider: creating a DCP is not always as straightforward as many people would think. If you only need to create DCP on an occasional basis, the cheapest option (read: without losing valuable time doing trial and error) is still to have your DCP made by a specialized company.

Thanks Ronny. I've used OpenDCP before and on other occassions had festivals have done the work after being accepted for screening and then for the last few I've output from PremierPro as it's built in and thats been pretty solid. I hadn't realised until this week that 10.3 wasn't around yet, so my last three questions have been a bit previous. If FCPX handles ACES (especially) and offers direct DCP I'll probably go back to it. Thanks for taking the time to reply, appreciate it. Lee

My pleasure, Lee. We should know very soon now what 10.3 will bring. I don't expect direct DCP because that would be against the current policy to leave specialized features up to third-party solutions in order to keep the core application lean and fast, and not to bloat the UI with things that only some people need.
Nevertheless, I would strongly advise you to try out the new version as soon as it gets released. It should be interesting.

I honestly can't see any NLE ever offering direct output of a DCP. Most people use NLE's to cut interviews and other boring things. Most people don't do things that need to play at movie theaters. DCP-O-Matic is great and Carl (the creator) is all ears when it comes to suggestions (I suggested he change the name to DCP-O-Matic since it was called DVD-O-Matic at the time). It's slow, but it works well. You just need to go inside and grab the proper folder because it puts everything in a folder that won't be seen by the DCP server.
