A case of lost metadata (EXIF / Acquisition metadata) was created by chrisb
With all of the emphasis on metadata with the advent of FCPX, I was very disappointed to find out that camera EXIF/acquisition metadata is not automatically copied on import.
... or, am I missing something?
In this screenshot we can see the acquisition metadata for an .MXF FS7 clip.
All I want is for this information to carry over to FCPX and the Resolve.
Since most (99%) of cameramen I "work" with (I never get to speak to them or even know who they are) have no clue as to how to properly use cameras or have any kind of technical insight as such, EXIF data is a way for me as an editor and colorist to see what settings they actually used (because they don't know themselves)
Is there any way of retaining this information so it shows up in the clip info pane of FCPX?
I have strong google-fu but this one has escaped me for years now!
