Having migrated from FCP-7 to FCP-X I cannot locate a method for grabbing HDV still frames and then treating the frames like a still photograph and enhansing in Photoshop. Can this be done?

Do you mean export a frame? Go to Share Add Destination. Drag Save current frame to the sidebar. Next time you share it will be available to you.

Thanks Tom. However, when I attempt to save the .tif to the desktop and open it in Photoshop I get a blank frame. What am I missing?

Don't know. Where's the playhead? Try another format. What version? What OS?

When you asked: "Where's the playhead?" I realized that I had highlighted the frame but the playhead was elsewhere. Problem solved. Thanks again Tom.

Troubleshooting Guide

Step 1 - Plug it in, flip the switch to the "on" position.
Step 2- Put air in the tires.

:P

As much as I use FCPX every day, I still make this mistake, just rushing through things too fast. Glad I'm not the only one.
