Final Cut Crashing

Hi all,

I'm running final cut pro 10.2.3 from a macbook pro running on OS el capital with 16GB of RAM. I've got shots from a dji osmo mobile which get saved to my iPhone and then using image capture saved to an external hard drive. When I come to import it to final cut, the software keeps crashing on me.

I've trashed both preference files but that didn't make a difference.

Any ideas?

Is the video playable on the Mac via Quicktime Player or VLC before you try to import it? If so, scrub through the entire video file and make sure it is not truncated nor has any gaps, and the tail of it concludes properly without hanging or crashing the player.

If it plays OK but still won't import, try to transcode it with an external tool. These are all just ways to validate the integrity of the file which may have gotten damaged during the copying to and from the iPhone.
