Compound clip & transitions

I have a very simple timeline with two separate clips and a transition between them. When I create a compound clip, it slides the transition to the end of the 2nd clip instead of leaving it between the two clips. Thoughts on how to keep the transition in there?

You need to extend some length for handles on your compound clips. Double click them to open them in a timeline and then drag the ends to increase the length. Then go back into the timeline (use the arrow in the history bar at the left) and reapply your transition between the two compound clips. If you have given enough handles on the outgoing and incoming clips as described above, your transition will now work.

Thank you! It actually wasn't two compound clips I was working with. It was just two clips in the timeline. I figured out that it wasn't working because I wasn't selecting the transition along with the two clips.

It would be nice if, by extending a compound clip, FCPX just extends the footage of the last clip automatically. Providing there is enough footage of course.

If we all wish really hard maybe Apple will hear us.
