Playback issues...

I'm working with 4k footage from my Sony as7ii. I just have a few clips and background music. And it is constantly dropping frames as well as the music every time I'm playing it back.

Can anyone offer any advise to fix this issue? Thank you in advance.

Likely your computer does not have the resources to smoothly playback that footage. Try switching the viewer setting from "High Quality" to "Better Performance" to see if that makes a difference. Secondly, be sure your media is on a fast external drive and not the system drive (unless your system drive is a very fast and large SSD).

Supplying the specs of your computer, GPU, Ram, software versions, etc. along with the codec of your 4K footage would help provide more accurate answers to your question.
