Okay - my son is a budding editor and shot some stuff on my iphone then after doing a massive edit realised he cant export it. I can put the file into a new event but cant get it to replace the missing file in gthr event he's working in.
I've taken the video file into the mac and tried copying it over the missing file but no luck
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
David (New member - nice meet you!)

Hi David, welcome to the forums.
Looks like the iPhone clips haven't been imported correctly. Do you see a little white camera icon on the clips in the FCP X browser?
If so: connect the iPhone to the Mac, select all clips that have the missing camera icon and select File > Import > Re-import from Camera/Archive and make sure to wait until you all files carefully imported into the FCP X Library. That should solve the issue.

Hi Ronny
Thanks for the fast reply - I tried that at first but perhaps didn't wait long enough
Will try again
And thanks for the welcome!

If the standard way doesn't work try this:
1. Create a new library and import the video you need into it. Make sure the clips are fully imported before doing anything else.
2. Drag the clips from the new library into the events in which they're supposed to be
No guarantees. Works for some.
