I'm going to start uploading footage to stock media sites. Some allow a CSV companion file to be uploaded so I can avoid having to enter all the keywords manually into their system. The problem is, I don't know the best way to get those keywords form FCPX to CVS.
I know FCPX exports XML. Is that my starting point? Then how do I convert that into CSV? I see by snooping in the XML with Textwrangler, the keywords are all there.
I see an app called "Producer's Best Friend" that appears to do what I want. It's a little pricey, but worth it if it's the best option. I'm looking for an automated solution, not some PITA work around. Is this the best option?

I'm not sure if this will work for you, but you can copy and paste your Keywords applicable to your project by just copy and pasting the Keywords that show up when you click export. I know that youtube will recognize it...
What stock footage site are you looking into? I may be able to test it if we use it.

One thing to note, is that depending on the format, the keywords that show up in FCPX on export will be baked into the file, and some stock footage sites will recognize those keywords.
Obviously this won't be any help if you are just uploading unedited files from the event folders, but I thought I'd point it out just incase.

Interesting. I did not know that. Do you happen to know what formats support the metadata "baking"?

No, but I do know that my .mov files have retained the export keywords, which have then been recognized by both pond5 and VideoBlocks.
