Hey all. Just getting started over here with FCP.

So, I add a cross dissolve transition. Then I want to lengthen the first clip. I want the second clip to stay the same length, so shift right if I lengthen clip A.

I can't seem to do this without deleting the transition. I see the handle at the top of the transition, but it shortens clip B and doesn't shift it right.

Any tips? I've searched around and I'm not seeing the answer. Thanks!!

Pull either of the tabs at the top end of the transition.

I thought that was to make the transition duration longer or shorter. Much thanks!!

just to add to the list of options:

grab'n drag the ▶︎◀︎ icon, moves the transitions in both clips, 'trimming'.
