Mixing Frame Rates

Hello
I have a problem. I shot a large part of my summer video on a Panasonic in 1080/50p some of my other footage was taken with the IPhone 6 hence in 30fps.
I am trying to cut the Video on FCPX. When I mix the IPhone footage into the Panasonic footage, the panasonic footage is so choppy it is impossible to edit. Before I put the iPhone footage into the time line it was fine.
Is there a way to deal with this or should I just leave the IPhone footage out?

Hi Christian, welcome to the forums.

Slecht your Project in the browser, then in the Inspector click the Modify Settings button. What is the frame rate of your Project? (Look at Video Properties > Rate).

HI Ronny,

The Frame rate for the project is is 50p, as in what the majority of the project is anyway.
I am able to cut an d watch everything fine. Just as soon as I add the iPhone footage (30fps) all the 50 fps becomes choppy.

Try to optimise the iPhone material (for. a start one clip) before applying to your project....

Could be an issue of 'too much workload', I assume, everything is on your internal drive? ;)

You where right! It was too much workload. I always cut everything on an external drive which has lots more space, therefore I don't understand...
I converted everything to proxy and was able to cut it perfectly, then converted back to original ( was unwatchable because so choppy) but after I rendered it, it was perfect!

Why do you think it is to much workload, even tough it is on a external drive?
