Hi there,
For some reason I sometimes find drop-outs of 1 frame in my exported videos in FCPX. It happens rarely, but I sometimes get one or two in a 4 minute movie, see the attached screenshot for what I mean. I have a MacPro 2010, 16GB memory and an ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB videocard. I shoot with the Sony FS5 and import my files always as optimized media [and proxy]. I found out a way to solve the problem which is to re-edit the shots where it happens, but I would like to know what the reason is, that this happens. And how come it only happens every now and then...? Does anybody have an idea? Thanks in advance.

Hoi Pim,
This is not a common issue. Could you re-attach the screenshot? Use JPEG and make sure your screenshot is not larger than 350KB. Also, to what format are you exporting your videos?

Hi Ron, thanks for your response. I've added a screenshot. Hope you can tell me more. I always export as 1920x1080 codec H264.

Hey Pim,
These are pixelated frames. Can you do a test?
Export as a ProRes 422 file instead of H.264 to see if you still get these random pixelations in the ProRes files. If you still have the issue, I would delete the FCP X preferences.
