You don't buy fish and ground meat on Mondays.
And the code for 10_3 is done for months …

Not the day of the week, the date. It would be inconvenient.

hahaha, I thought it was FishFree Fridays and No Mince Mondays!!! Must be a German thing!!!

My previous iteration of a macbook pro was a Monday Made Model..

Back in the day, factories made duds on Mondays, staff hung over from the weekend, and Fridays, staff did not care, too busy pre-occupied by the football upcoming!! :silly: :silly: :silly:

PS..it is friday today..just light comedy...

There has never been any FCP X update that was directly related to specific hardware. The current version of FCP X runs the same on an old 2008 MacPro as on the latest 5K 27" iMac. FCP X will be updated when they think it's ready, and this is totally unrelated to hardware or to Sierra.

no doubt of your expertise, Ronny (btw: A very good morning from Munich!!), but if I would be in Phil's position (phew, gimme a breath to imagine THAT), and if Apple would really make a leap to  branded GPUs (any of the 3 options I mentioned above), I would tell the FCPX-crew "make your betas as long as you want, but going public only when the welderers in the basement finish their job!"

'cause how to demo a GPU?
With 'computed pics'. (usually games …)
And rendering a 60min 4k in under 10secs is a demo, any John Doe would understands. "Fastest Mac ever"

… we'll see … If I'm right, change my name to Kassandra Schlüter LOL!!!

That was 10.0.5 and no, it wasn't directly related to specific hardware. It was just a minor fix to make the FCP X UI adapt to the higher resolution of the Retina Macs' screens. Not related to the hardware itself. The app still worked (and still works) on non-Retina Macs.

?? that FCPX update was directly tied to the Retina screen. It was shown off in the keynote. "Look how cool this new feature is on our new MacBook Pro". The update wasn't released before the new hardware feature (in this case retina screen) was revealed. It shipped to time with the availability of that MBP.

If that isn't an update times to release with the hardware I don't k is what is? We'll just have to agree to disagree entirely. I never suggested that FCPX would only run on hardware with this new feature going forward. ? I am suggesting that it won't be unveiled until after the new MBPs are. Time will tell if I'm right.

If the coming FCP X update has one specific new feature that is directly related to the new MBP's, I will agree with you.

There's a leaked image showing that the new MBP will have a touch panel instead of function keys. Maybe the new FCPX will be the first app to take advantage of this and and although you definitely won't NEED the new MBP to use FCPX it might be the perfect way to showcase the feature. Kind of in the same way the Retina ready version was...

I'm really interested in next generation of both MBPs and iMacs... as it seems like both will have quite a big leap in graphics cards... And I'm obviously very interested in the next version of FCPX!
