FCPX PROGRAM HANGS

Hello.
I made a custom looks in the effects panel. Now Final cut freezes up.
How can I delete or repair this. I am forced to hard reset FCPX. I looked for the custom effects and can not find it.

Welcome to the fop.co forums.
If you created a custom effect, not just a preset, the effect is in your ~Movies>Motion Templates> + whatever type of effect it is. You can remove it from there in the Finder. Be sure to either quit FCPX prior to removing or relaunch FCPX to see changes.
You may also have to find any clips that have the effect applied and delete those.
If you still have problems, delete FCPX preferences by holding down the command and option keys while launching FCPX and click on delete preferences.

Make sure you have back-ups.

Thank you for the advice. Could not find the "Looks" plugin under "Motion Templates" in the "effect" folder. I eventually deleted all the folders under the "Motion Templates".
Opened FCP and deleted the Effect in the effects panel under "Looks".
I then closed FCP and pasted all the folders back.
This worked! and everything back to normal.
