Check out iZotope RX 5 Audio Editor. It has a de-clipper that works well. A little pricey, but worth it, and the standard version has the de-clipper.

Clipped audio is essentially deleted data, similar to a photograph with blown highlights. Once that is gone, you can't really get the original content back.

However the audio waveform is usually more regular and predictable than imagery. Therefore it is possible to reconstruct the clipped waveform -- after a fashion and if using the right software. As already mentioned iZotope RX5 is good at this, but even it cannot perfectly reconstruct a badly clipped audio track. Severely clipped audio which is reconstructed by RX5 will be improved but still not sound quite right.

As most already know this is why it's important to monitor audio with headphones, not just go by the meters. It is easily possible for levels to look good on the meters but still be clipped earlier in the audio chain.

Two common ways this happens is if mic and line levels are mismatched thereby overdriving and clipping, or if a wireless lav mic is clipping at the transmitter. In either case turning down the receiver or camera audio input will lower the level but it will still be clipped.
