Audio static hit

Has anyone experience an audio static hit in their output from FCPX? I am having to re-export over and over gain because of this hit. It seems to be in different places each time. It does not have it during playback in the timeline. I hope someone has an answer for me cause I would hate to have to re-do this project in Avid. Thanks in advance.

Are you by any chance editing .mts files with a 5.1 channel .ac3 sound track that were not imported through FCPX's import window?
if so that might be your problem, and you will need to rewrap the files with ClipWrap (or Media Converter with the Re-wrap AVCHD for Quicktime - uncompressed Audio preset) and use FCPX's relink files command to switch them out. And in the future import through FCPX's import window.
If that's not the cause, I have no idea what else to check, because that's the only thing that has caused clicking problems for me. Maybe temporarily disable any third party plugins to make sure they're not causing the problem?

I've seen this issue with audio files with non-standard sampling rates, especially when they are attached to source videos with weird framerates. Check the sampling rates of your all your audio clips, and see if it's anything like 48.00213 or anything strange like that. One way this can happen is if you use something like Cinema tools to reconform the framerate of a clip.
A way to fix it is to export the problematic audio to a standard sampling rate of 48 kHz, using any program that can do that like quicktime or some other audio program.

If the above suggestions do not solve your issue, consider this:
Are you playing the exported file thru the same mac system that you created it on in FCPX? Even though you don't hear it in the timeline, try to playback on another system or an iPad (even if you have to export an Apple device version) to see if there is an audio unit issue. Also, if you are using compressor plugins in your project, aggressive settings can sometimes render cleanly in the project but introduce some glitches upon export. Try an export with any audio compressors disabled if you use them. I have noticed this recently on a short documentary with certain interview clips that were compressed with the default compressor in FCPX. I'm still trying to get to the bottom of this.
