Use zoom in FCPX ! was created by maclamb
Using an Imac 5k and at the age of 65 my eyes are not so good as they have been before. So I started to use the Mac zoom function with my magic mouse, alt+magic mouse and discovered a new way to work. I don't know how many of you that uses that but to all you that not have tested, do it ! I zoom in the browser and can more clearly see whats in the thumbnails, I zoom in the inspector to get better control changing parameters and i zoom in the timeline and so on. Writing this I zoom in to see the text I am writing. Don't laugh try it out !

I do understand this. I zoom all the time, as my eyesight is not that great anymore, either.

here, zoom is set to ctrl-opt - constant in use.
ok, of no help to hit those square-nano-meters, which switchOn the &%$§"!! white dot of the audio-fader in the timeline, but for visual magnification:
Excellent tip!

In Safari, if you have Smart Zoom turned on in System Preferences for your Magic Mouse, a single finger double-tap on the top of the mouse will zoom in at the cursor's location ... but ... it zooms at a high quality resolution by rescaling the fonts, not digital zooming like option+scroll wheel does. Images/video are not rescaled though. Repeating the single finger double-tap zooms back out.
Not sure if it works in any other OS X apps, but I use it a LOT in Safari to read the fine points.

Yep same here, zoom is my eyes savior.
Have computer glasses, different than my prescription bi-focals, adjusted for monitor distance.
I also keep a hand magnifying glass next to my keyboard. Use when just checking something quickly.
Can't say that the IU contrast/colors are optimized for older eyes.
Apple only hires 20 somethings with 20/20 vision apparently
Anyone notice that many Apple web pages do not allow zoom? App Store biggest offender. Apple has been a leader for disability support, so find this behavior on it's own website disappointing. 20 something programmers again.
I use cmmd + for daily work and web surfing along with the pinch motion expand/shrink on trackpad. Different sites have different viewing behaviors. Sometimes page text will enlarge off screen using cmmd + and sometimes will be constrained to monitor/page width. Fully depends on how site is written.
Video tutorials without mouse magnification drives my nuts. Keep my magnifier in hand. Like how many screen capture programs also allow magnifying area around focus.
Thinking I might have to go to a iPhone 7+. Use my phone without my glasses while out and about.
Done with old geezer rant.
Happy editing, Greg
