LetterBox Templete

I am very new FCPX and have a question about creating a letterbox style templete that can be used over & over.
I upload to Instagram and would like to create a templete that is White Top & Bottom, so I can place my video in and also move it around to get the right perspective. I'm not sure if this is the correct name for this but it may be also be called a Scope.
Sorry if this has been asked before or I have missed a tutorial explaining this.
regards
Greg

Hi Paul,
To improve my version, I've 'borrowed' a few features of your plug-in, but controlled by an OSC …
Yours is more 'correct' (precise aspect ratio etc), mine is more … playful, therefor the 'click'n drag'-interface for zoom, position and rotation …

THANKS for inspiring me!

Cool. If you give me a "Category", I'll build an Installer for you. For example I've designated "Mattes" as the Category for Cinemascope Toolkit. Installers provide a much nicer distribution option as opposed to instructing users to drag the contents to a certain location. Believe it or not this confuses allot of newbies
Also, you might want to check out the utility that I wrote to Install/Manage Motion Templates:
toMotion

Awesome and very generous offer, Paul!!
... Andreas from spherico did once too, but I got lost in its interface.. he tought me, that plugins should have a category, a theme and a description.. (cough) which I frequently forget to apply....
Had a look at toMotion, tested it - works great!
But distributing my plugins (meanwhile filling a shoebox ...) with a 'real' one-click-Installer would be great and add a touch of professionalism.....
Be gentle with me - I'm a mouse-pusher, eye-candy liking ol' man.
Any 'drag here, done' solution fits my skills.
Category for 'ks_Letterboxed v2' should be 'Effects' in general and perhaps 'ks_effects' as sub?
Theme should be 'ks_themes' ....

You're welcome. Here is your Installer with the requested edits:
f-video.s3.amazonaws.com/ks_Letterboxed_v2.zip
You can distribute the .pkg Bundle after unzipping.

AWESOME!
THANK YOU!
you gave me your pinkie, I demand a whole arm (German saying)
Any chance, you can make me a generic package maker??
I drag my plugin folder onto it (incl. theme, category, discription
Or, not too much automatism: dragging he folder onto it, and some fields to fill …?
Or is that too simple thought, for a high complex task?
(sorry, me no engineer!)

You're welcome. I would say your best option would be to download Apple's PackageMaker utility. I believe you need to sign in as a Developer in order to access their utilities. I don't think a fee is required.
developer.apple.com
Once the application is installed, you can build a generic project template and use it for all subsequent distribution packages. This is how I built yours. I can send you my template. OTOH it wouldn't be of much use unless the utility is installed on your system. There are other third party options out there. However, they are not as straight forward as Apple's.
For CinemaScope Toolkit, I hard coded a sort of "custom" installer in Xcode. This is a much more elaborate process.
Keep in mind you can customize the visual design of a standard Package Installer using Apple's utility. Like I said I feel this is your best option.

That would be great... somehow, I'm registered as Developer, so dl the pkg-maker shouldn't be no big deal... 'filling' it is probably a much bigger challange... so, your 'empty plate' could be of big help.
You can contact me by PM here at the board...
Again, Paul, thanks for your support!
... I'm better in video, made & added a demo meanwhile to my post ...
