Keeping Green Screen Area Clean - Any Ideas?

Keeping Green Screen Area Clean - Any Ideas? was created by Schwyhart
My team and I have just converted our infinity wall (white wall) into a large green screen.
We will be adding tracking markers on it soon, but I wanted to asked if anyone has ideas to keep it clean.
One problem we had with the infinity wall is keeping the floor clean of shoe scuffs.
We could ask people to take off their shoes, but then what's the point of having a full body shot, because we wouldn't want shoe-less people in the shot.
Another suggestion a team-member had was booties, like doctors and nurses wear in hospitals, but again this defeats the point.
I had an idea to use furniture pads on the bottom of their shoes, which might work. We haven't tried it yet.
And yet another idea was to do a layer of polyurethane on the floor, but I think it'd have too much glare.
Which, by the way, the picture below is right after it was painted, so it was wet. After it dried, there are no glares/white areas.
So, any other ideas?

We do a combination of things in our studio. Booties (shoe covers) are great for crew members and talent during rehearsals. As far as talent during head-to-toe shots, we provide 3M Sticky Mats as one option and worst case, they can put pieces of gaff tape on the soles of their shoes to help with the marks.
The bottom line is that you are going to get marks on the floor eventually. The goal is to just minimize them during the actual shoot day if you can.
Good luck!

There really isn't much you can do, dirt happens. Surround the green with fluffy floor mats and ask folks to wipe their feet. Keep the area mopped. Enforce a no foo/drink rule with cruelty. You can also buy compatible green fabrics to put on the floor, throw 'em away after you can't wash them anymore. the big dogs in the green screen biz have lots of touch up paint within easy reach, swiffer mop pads, gentle spray cleaners, and soft cotton or microfibre pads.

On our green screen stage, we use cardboard layout boards that are 4'x8' or 4x10' and can be bought at Home Depot. They allow a lot of heavy foot traffic during setup and can be pulled away at the last minute for just green. You can remove the back ones for the day and leave ones in the front during most stuff that doesn't require head to toe shots.

If I remember correctly, in my TV days we had 3 methods
• new shoes (ladies preferred that
)
• cleaning the soles (wire brush)
• and already mentioned gaffa-tape and scissors - carefull, gets slippery!
and for the crew those one-way hospital covers, needed too for high reflective floors (veeeeery fancy in the 90ies)
