Resizing Video Clip

Hello Everyone!
So I'm working with a video that is 1920x1080.
I trim it down to a 354x188 rectangle that I want to keep.
Now my problem is, I want my final video dimensions to be 354x188.
So I start a new project, and enter those values into a custom size. And paste my clip in from my parent project.
...but this resizes the video, so that the entire 1920x1080 canvas fits inside my 354x188 block.
So, I then attempt to transform the video, it wants to scale based on the 1920x1080 dimensions, not the scale of my selected portion.
So I'm having a horrible time getting exactly what it is that I'm after. I've used other programs in the past to "fix" this. ScreenFlow for instance doesn't auto scale video, so I can put my video and move it around until the section I want kept lines up properly.
But I'm sure I can do this without another program in the loop, and ScreenFlow causes me to have other problems...
So the point is, can any of you help me get an AxB sized canvas with a properly sized (original; unscaled) AxB video within it?
Thanks!

I am sure Tom did not mean yours
Just to clarify for the OP: you want Spatial Conform set to None - that means 100% is original size.
Fill will still shrink the image.
Note 1:
None: 100% is original size
Fill: 100% is whatever fills the destination frame (leaving no black/transparent areas), but possibly cutting out part of the image
Fit: 100% is whatever needed so that all the image, er... fits inside the frame; but possibly leaving black/transparent areas
Note 2:
Whichever you choose, you can of course then change the scale; so in principle you could use any of the options and scale accordingly
Note 3:
If the aspect ratio of both source and destination are the same, Fit=Fill

Yes indeed. I forget that unfortunately there isn't threading on this forum, or which message is being responded to.
