Filmstrip View Issue was created by Abiding Dude
Hello.
I edited a five minute video recently using images from a few hundred RAW files. The files list appropriately in List View but most images do not render properly in Filmstrip View. I can scroll over the image and then see it but it disappears when I move to the next image.
Does anyone have a solution to this issue?

Can't really tell from you post what's going on, too many variables. But FCPX can forget where the thumbnails are. For most of us, restarting the app and clearing the prefs usually fixes minor glitches like this.
Generally, though, I never use raw still images in FCPX, too many things can go wrong. I tweak my stills in Lightroom or Photoshop, export them as reasonably sized jpegs, and bring those into FCPX.

As Bogiesan said I think the RAM is overloaded with those huge RAW pictures and that's why FCPX can't follow up with the thumbnails.

I don't use RAW stills in video projects but process candidates outside in LR, convert to JPG then import those and make the final selection within FCPX.
However I had the same behavior you describe, including some filmstrip thumbnails being permanently blank except when the cursor was on them, then they'd appear, then vanish when the cursor left them. This was on a very large Library event -- about 7,000 clips and 3 TB.
I tried many steps including manually deleting the deleted the thumbnail media folder in the library, trashing FCPX preferences, etc. None of those steps helped any.
I had Spotlight indexing disabled on the media drive. When I enabled Spotlight indexing and after the indexes built, then the odd behavior went away. To my knowledge there is no documented effect or recommendation about OS X Spotlight indexing vs FCPX thumbnail performance, however it seemed there was a connection whereby Spotlight somehow benefitted thumbnail generation in filmstrip mode.
I suggest you examine whether Spotlight indexing is enabled on your media drive and if not enable it. If it is already enabled, then rebuild the indexes and if that doesn't work, try the other steps such as trashing preferences.
You check what volumes are excluded from Spotlight indexing in System Preferences>Spotlight>Privacy. If your media drive is already indexed, rebuild the indexes this way: support.apple.com/en-us/HT201716
