FCP won't let me export. Permissions Problem. was created by grant.benson
Hey all. So I just finished a film I've been working on for the past 6 months and I'm trying to export it to my friend who's mastering it. However, I've run into a very infuriating problem that has delayed me for some time now.
Every time I try to export my film using the Video & Audio function, a message appears saying I don't have permission and I need to turn on permission for that location. This happens wherever I try to export it. The problem is, I've turned on permission for me in the location I want it in, yet it still won't let me export it. Does anyone know how to fix this? I really need to get this film out to my friend.
I can clarify anything if needed.
Thanks!

Are you able to export anything to your Desktop? Or are you trying to export to external drives?

If you are exporting to an external drive, be sure the drive is set to ignore permissions. You can do this by selecting the drive, choose "Get Info" and then check the box to ignore permissions. If this is a drive your friend supplied to you then he or she may have to change that permission setting. If that's not the solution then post back with some details of the drive your exporting to, and the ownership of that drive.
