Hello!

My SD Cards are taking way too long to load... (20 to 25 minutes until they show up in my import window) This is annoying and when I'm working with a client it's awkward to say the least.

I have the latest OS and the latest version of FCPX. Is this happening to you??? (oh, dear reader of my post) Is there a fix for this kind of thing?

Thanks so much for your help!!!

Eddie

So... are you saying the import process takes a long time or they take forever for your Mac to even see them? The way your post is written, it sounds like the latter. In that case I'd recommend a new card reader. If the former, then I'd recommend new cards.

No.

in the past, some people noticed Spotlight was indexing their SDcards … no clue, how to check this happens on your setup too, but worth to dig deeper into it.

Do use any virus-scanners? Then, for sure, a huge card stuffed with thousands of clips & pix is a challange ...

I recently signed up for some security software from Frontier Communications. I can't remember if the problem was happening before I installed it... I'll uninstall it and see how that goes.

Thanks for your help!!

I purchased a new SD Card reader and the problem didn't go away. I do have one bad USB port on the front of my Mac Pro, so maybe the other one is going out too.

Thanks for your help!
