I'm currently running FCPX 10.1.2 on a macbook pro 13.3 with 16gb of RAM and 256 HD drive. There is 108 GB remaining on the hard drive. When trying to run share on FCPX it takes a VERY long time and honestly I think it is freezing after a time. I checked the activity monitor and FCP is using 2.2 GB of memory so there is enough RAM left. Plenty of hard drive space. This isn't my machine but I don't think anything has changed except for maybe an update, but is there a report of 10.1.2 having these issues?

I'm looking for a series of steps I can do on this machine to clear up the blockage. I have already reset the machine.

Thanks!

What are you processing, media, effects, output? The graphics card may be weak on this system. What IS are you running that you haven't updated?

There have been many performance improvements since then. Consider updating to FCPX 10.2.3 and Pro Video Formats 2.0.4 .

Not sure what you mean by IS. Information system? It actually shaRed when I returned last night. I'm going to see if the pRoblem still persists.

If the problem still persists:

1. Refresh your FCP X preferences to see if this solves the probllem. If this does not help:

2. Create a new admin user account, lauch FCP X and see if this solves the problem. Then post back so we can help you further.
