Hey guys,
I've been curious about this for a while and figured I'd ask to see if anyone else knows or has come across this issue. When I make a Multicam clip from a single video and audio source, FCPX chooses the audio timecode as the starting timecode. I would rather have the timecode match the video timecode.
Camera angles have been input as CamA and zAudio to get audio below the video, and I have batch renamed the clips to sort better in the Browser.
Is it simply because I am syncing via waveform that FCPX is choosing the audio as the beginning timecode?
Thanks!

Is it because the audio timecode appears to begin sooner than the footage I wonder?

I'm not sure about this either, but it would be really helpful if the multicam creation popup window had some more options.
Before I create a multicam, I give every audio and video clip roles. It would be nice if I could set the multicam window specify which audio was used as master audio and which video was used as master video. As it is now, I create the multicam and it puts whatever audio and video it wants as the default and I have to go through and change all of them to the ones I want.

I also wonder about this and would love to know if anyone has an answer. I also agree with other Julian on the master audio/video thing.

I believe according to the docs, it creates a multicam with timecode matching the angle with the EARLIEST timecode starts. This works in a lot of cases, but it's terrible if one of your angles is something like a DSLR camera that doesn't shoot real timecode. Those start with 0, so unfortunately the multicams will start at 0.
Please, everyone send a feature request. There needs to be a selection box or something that would let you specify which piece of media gets to give the timecode to the multicam. The only workaround at the moment is that you can manually type in the timecode when you create the multicam.
