Adding subtitle to my film?

Hello creatives

I have a question, i am working on my documentary and I want to add a subtitle for the film, however, i don't want to export the film with it, i want the subtitle to be separate as add-on and i added it to the film.

Any suggestions?

Also, if i want to add it to the film? is there any better way of using the credit and use it to write the subtitle?

While the article is a nice read, it won't actually match the workflow of subtling a whole documentation

Do you have a transcription for the video already?
In case not, there are a lot of free tools on the web. If the spoken language is English YouTube is worth a try with it's automatic transcription.

Once you are done there are several options to get this transcripon into FCPX.
