Message: "_Sync_ couldn't be removed" Library Won't Open!

Hello forum friends!

So I am one week away from launching my guitar instructional website for kids & teens ( www.kidsguitaracademy.com ) and am uploading my final videos onto the site when my main library decides not to open anymore. I am receiving the following two messages:

1) "_Sync_ couldn't be removed"
2) "File couldn't be opened"

My library is located on an external drive. The drive does not appear to be corrupted as I am able to write to the drive. Is this a permissions issue? Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Check the backups of the corrupted Library.
By default, they're in your Movie folder, in a folder called "Final Cut Backups".

BTW, hard drives can die slowly, be mostly functional for awhile, then die. So simply writing to a drive is no indication it is good or not good. If it is on its way out, you'd usually see other symptoms, though.

Is it possible you have an external drive that is syncing to cloud storage? I've never used any of these but they exist and maybe if yours does this it is trying to reference some media that was uploaded to a cloud service.
