Hi

Using the same settings I have many times on my 2015 MBP 15" 2.8ghz, the share of an 81min project to the desktop has failed numerous times.

The setting is from Compressor. My usual setting regularly fails at around 61%, 2 other settings at 87%. The files are playable and of different lengths, none are complete.

Exporting to compressor and exporting failed.

I have trashed prefs and deleted render files.

No clips appear to be 'missing' from project.

An export of a short project worked.

Any ideas as to the problem?

Could there be some conflict with Safari use of Adobe Flash Player or Silverlight? It would be strange to suddenly start now.

Hi Elmer,

The first ting we need to rule out is project-related errors.

Are you able to export your timeline as a ProRes 422 master file? That's the first thing you need to try.

If this works: open the master file in Compressor and export from Compressor using your usual Compressor setting.

If this does not work: report back.

Hi Ronny,

Thank you for the reply!

I was able to export a master file. It's about 80gb, and I am now exporting it from Compressor using my usual setting which is a double pass.

Exporting usually takes about one hour. But with the master file, after 50 minutes it's less than a quarter done and I must head off to work. I hope to pause Compressor till I return tho I doubt that will work as my MBP will be turned off.

Does being able to export a Master File mean something as to project-related errors?

If you can export a master file, this usually means there are no problems on your timeline.

It's quite normal for an 80GB file to take some time to convert.

You might check your App Nap settings to see if FCP X does not get stopped when doing a very long export.

Thanks for your reply, Ronnie!

I am home and will probably try use to compressor on the Master File tonight or when I'm ho me 5-6 hours. Thanks for that tip.

I had to google app nap, but have now checked it's prevention. Since I have shared this on longer films many times before I doubt it's the original source of the problem but couldn't hurt. Thanks for that tip too.

Any advice on resolving the issue?
