Looking for a good Audio Interface for FCPX

I'm new to FCPX and the interface I use with Logic X is the Komplete AUDIO 6 and it does NOT like FCPX. I wanted to move to the Zoom TAC-2 interface so that I could use lightning connections and for portability, but before I do that I wanted to get the opinions of those here.

Some background. I build custom guitars for many touring musicians. The business is really starting to grow and I want to make some more quality videos of the building process, Guitars playing live on stage, etc.

I'm not looking to produce a TV show or make this a career of editing video, but I do want to get a good product for my money and have the ability hear my clips though my studio monitors.

Thanks for your help and input, any and all will be welcomed and appreciated!

FXCPX should not have any issues with the NI Audio 6. I'd not change, but look at what's wrong in the Mac. I use NI hardware and software often, and a lot, and have used the Audio 6 with no FCPX issues. What exactly do you means it does not like FCPX?

I'm not a fan of Zoom, don't like their pre-amps, especially the filters.

I'd look at the Apogee Duet. Solid, sturdy, some of the best pre-amps and filter circuitry on the market. Plus it works with iPads! Yes, I use my Quartet with my iPad and Auria on occasion. Or something from PreSonus.

But before spending more money, lets figure out why the Audio 6 isn't working. What exactly is happening?

Thanks Ben

FCPX will not let me select any audio interface of any kind. If I go into an individual "CLIP" I can change it to left and right Stereo and I get sound from the Mac - but only in that clip, and not through the KOMPLETE

Attached is the screen shot of the issue

I agree with BenB. I have an old Apogee Duet through Firewire Unit which has been fantastic for me for several years now. The pre-amps are excellent.

I have used this interface for a variety of VO work on various production pieces.

In summary: you should have no problem with any interface that supports Apple Core Audio in FCP X.
