Faces, Places, next: Scenes

Don't know how many years ago I phantasized 'auto indexing pictures' is the next big thing... 'cause, how do yo find pictures without of worded description?
Obviously, next macOS does:
according to the article linked above, it identifies >4.000 'scenes', the published list mentions all avail, some are very tangible (cake, geyser, motorcycle), some are 'interesting' (art - how does a machine identifies art??)
Face recognition does work in FCPX for a while, so, I wouldn't be suprised if the 'Sierrarized' version of FCPX will allow auto-keywording for 'scenes' too ....

That sort of recognition power could really help out FCPX in ways I'm sure we can't imagine the dev team doing. Sierra is very exciting stuff.

Whatever :dry:
What I missed to mention but relates to Scene detection:
listen to what Craig Federighi tells about it at John Gruber's The Talkshow
daringfireball.net/thetalkshow/2016/06/17/ep-158
around 48.oo - 54:3o ..
… they talked before about Differential Privacy (you learn new words every day....
)
The computation is done on your local device. Not on some server-farm in the desert....
That makes it - for me - very likely, it finds its way into a next FCPX.
If a phone can do it, a Mac should either.
OK, a phone has the advantage of geo-meta, my cameras do not deliver... so, if you take a snapshot at a Kodak Photo Spot, well known as 'View to Cinderellas Castle", it is easy to detect Scene 'castle' ...-
And for sure, the very first question is: Can I create own Scenes?
… very, very interesting...
(and very Trekkie, yelling into midair "Computer, all scenes with Grandma at a fireplace before 1986!")
