I can't import Any photos into Final Cut Pro

It won't let me use the Import button or drag and drop. It did let me import them once, but they were extremely out of order. So I deleted them from the program so I could reorder them. But when I tried to reimport, it wouldn't work. The program says they are loaded, and even shows a few on the screen, but they don't appear anywhere in the library. I did edit several of the photos in GIMP, but I don't think that's a factor because other than being out of order (And lacking nearly half) the first time, they imported fine. Any help would be appreciated.

Start with a new empty Library.

New Library and Event. Good. How are you trying to import and what file type?

Thanks for your help. I am able to keep editing. However another problem remains. I have discovered that I wouldn't let me import these photos because I "rejected" them instead of deleting them. meaning they were trapped in a purgatory. How would I remedy this should it ever happen again?

select the video clips and click the white star (Remove ratings from the selection) or press 'U'
