Working with multicam clips in Final Cut Pro X

Working with multicam clips in Final Cut Pro X was created by Maria
Hello guys,
I'm having some problems because I did a wrong workflow for a multi clip editing.
Well, I recorded the sound with an external device and I shot with two cameras. I chose to compensate the volume of my audio clips (that was too low) before I doing the sync and unfortunately I didn't do it very well at the time. Then I sync my two cameras with the audio compensation I did, and then the multicam clips.
The thing is that I put some unfortunate filters that distorted too much the audio and then I did the final editing, so now I've figured out how to make the audio clean but my source is synchronized with the wrong filter and it don't really want to refresh... The multicam clip calls for the synchronized clips, and they call for the (shitty) audio clip that I changed but if I change the audio source now, the synchronized clips don't change because they are already linked. So... There is a solution or should I connect all my clips one by one? I just want to change the audio with the good filter and reconnect it all again... It seems logical to do that but I don't find the way.
It would be great if I could undo my multicam clip in the timeline so I could see each element separately.
Anyone can help ? Thank you so much.
Maria.

Hi Maria,
I'm a bit lost in your discription...
Hu?
Why synnching audio with each camera and then synch again?
Create a MultiCam with all three, 2 cameras, one audio recorder ...
for edit, set the monitor angle to the audio track
In the MCs timeline, you can adjust the audio track....
Or, ..
open your existing MC in its own timeline (double click), and Add Angle (aside an Angles name, click the little triangle), and add your new, better audio track;...
And Welcome, Maria, to fcp.co

Hey Karsten!
Yes... it seems that I turned around to do something simple !
Thank you so much... I'm sort of new in Final X but I will get in shape very soon

Kirsten, I forgot something... and I think you will know it
Suppose that I want to do the color correction of a film edited in FCP X with multi cams, so I export an XML to Davinci for example, it seems that you have to collapse the clips before you export your XML because if not, Davinci have some problems to reconnect the proxys with the originals. I've read that you can not collapse any multicam clips in FCPX so : how would you do it ?
Thank you very much

What do yo mean by 'collapse'?
the MC in a Project timeline (hopefully, you dont edit in its own timeline?!) is a single timeline .. no tracks, no collapsing ...

No, I think I didn't explain it very well.
I mean, when you do the editing with MC you choose the angle that you prefer in your project, but when exporting the final cut to a program for color correction, I want to export a XML whit the information of one angle only (like if it was a single clip), because the information in the XML contains all the angles of each MC and that makes more complicated the process of reconnecting the clips with the originals.
Recently, I did the editing of a movie with Final 7 and I exported the XML with the MC instead of replace them with the single camera angles. The film was color corrected in Davinci Resolve and I know there were some troubles with reconnecting the proxies with the 4k original clips because of that. This is why i'm asking.
Thks.

You are correct in that there is no way to flatten/finalize a mulli-cam clip in FCPX,
but FCPX XML is quite a different beast than FCP7,
I've transferred a multi-cam project to resolve 12 with no issues,
if you're using FCPX generated proxies, simply set FCPX back to original media before export.
if not, I have no idea, but don't assume it will be the same as FCP7.

Ok, so there's no flatten way
Thank you Mark, it's true that in Final 7 I couldn't reconnect the original 4K media, so I will try to do that in Final X.
I know FCPX is quite different so, I will see.
Thank you.
