Import Sony Z5 MP4 to FCPX was created by ccmp
Hi,
I've recording footage with Sony A6000 and Zony Z5 Smartphone. The last Z5 isn't recognize in FCPX. I can download the MP4 files and add this to FCPX. There is an error 'FPS don't recognized etc', I can set it to from 59 to 50. Is this the correct way or do I have to convert it outside FCPx first?
The settings on the A6000 are 50 FPS.

The Sony Z5 is not currently supported by FCPX. Is the error you get related to the MP4 files you are adding or when you connect your Z5? And, can you please post the exact error message? The codec inside the MP4 container may require a conversion before importing, but answering the above questions will help to assist you.

Hi dgwvideo,
Thanks for your answer.
Importing direct from Z5 is not possible, the camera is not connecting.
I'm using the Sony Bridge for Mac to transfer the files to my disk.
Steps:
- import Media (from disk)
- adding new project
- video properties: Set based on the first video clip
Error: the video properties of this clip are not be recognized
Video properties 1080HD / 1920x1080 / 59.94p
When I set the video properties to CUSTOM and set to 59,94p or 50p then there is no error

Open the file in the QT player and post a screenshot of the info window.
If the material is 59.95 why would you use 50? Do you need 50 or 25 dos for delivery?

I've record with A6000 Sony and Z5 Sony. The A6000 is shooting with 50 fps.
Which is better?

What do you need to deliver? 59.94 is an American standard. 50 is a European standard.

Your project should be set for your delivery requirement, so in your case set it to 50p. Your imported Z5 clips that are 59.94 will play back at the 50p rate. For better results in the future record your Z5 clips at 50p rather than 59.94 to avoid the rate conversion FCPX will do making them play at 50 fps.

The Sony Z5 can only shoot in 30 or 60 fps.
Finale delivery is mostly for YouTube, Os there an 'best setting' in this? 25/30 or 50/60?

25 will need less bandwidth. Lot of fast motion then 50.
