search for LUT
there are two sorts: for correcting (what you are looking for) and for grading ('look')

I'm using LUTx from coremelt , 29$, lots of bang for the buck; it allows to add LUTs from ext. sources, google spits out lots of GoPro LUTs, for free . LUTs are device-specific, so you have to search for a LUT for your cam...

Do you mean you are using the flat color recording profile while shooting? We far prefer to use GoPro's Protune software—when we use Protune, which we don't often since the GoPro footage is merely b-roll for us—then import the tweaked and exported footage into FCPX. Our workflow and production needs are, of course, different from yours.

Actually I'm looking for a quick way to turn a flat color recording profile to something usable in post. I'm not shooting the footage - this is how the client is providing it to me.

I just need something that I can pop on that will get me in the ballpark of usable footage that I can then tweak.

Thanks.

The go pro software package is a free download. It's not as much fun to use as FCPX but it's built to handle the flat files form go pro cameras perfectly. Can't help you with the DSLR profiles, though, sorry, never used any of the tools Karsten is recommending. He knows what he's talking about.

What DLSR exactly, and shot in what format/codec?

LUTx will give more control, but CoreMelt Free has a DSLR DeFlat effect that's controllable.
