Compressor Clusters

Has anyone had any luck getting Compressor 4.2 set up and working with a cluster (or group)?

Using Apple's instructions, I've been able to set up multibple computers running Compressor and build a group of shared computers, but I'm not able to process anything on the group. The compression job just sits there, and eventually dies.

I've reset compressor, canceled the jobs, but nothing seems to get it going.

I'm not using an XSan, just a server running AFP to share the files, but I enabled automatic file sharing, so it _should_ work.

Years ago I managed to have a Compressor render farm of 4 iMacs running, under Compressor 3 or 4, before FCPX and the new version of compressor, back when you could set it up as a quick cluster or proper cluster. But not luck with the new version. Is it just broken, or is there something I'm not doing right?
