Slip video only

Slip video only was created by ybr
Greetings!
One of the edit techniques I used all the time in legacy FCP was to slip only the video in a clip, especially as I'm fine tuning. After some experimentation, i have yet to find an easy way to do this in X. So far, the quickest way for me to do this is detach audio, and Slip holding the Tilda key (connections override).
Does anyone know of a way for me to slip only video in a clip without having to detach the audio?
Thanks,
yb

There are three techniques for Slip edits.
Hold the Option key while using the Slip edit tool, to perform a Slide edit.
FYI; These three apply to Ripple and Roll edits, also.
1-Mouse
Hit "T" for the Transform tool.
Mouse over a clip.
Click & drag the filmstrip left and/or right
2-Nudge
"T" for the Transform tool.
Click on the center of a clip once.
The head and tail edit points highlight.
Use the < and > keys to nudge a Slip edit one frame at a time.
3-Timecode
"T" for the Transform tool.
Click on the center of a clip once to select it.
Click once on the Timecode reader in the Dashboard (center of Tool Bar) to activate it.
Type in standard SMTE timecode and the clip will Slip that amount. Start with either + or - so FCPX knows if you're Slipping left or right.

Depending in the purpose of your fine tuning, you could open the clip in the timeline and slip the video there.
It's not easier but your clips will stay intact.
Edit:
Actually sort of a nonsense answer from my side.
It only works under certain cisrcumstances, mostly not at all.
Sorry for the confusion.
So I´m with Ben - detaching is the only real way to do this.

Oh, I just noticed, "video only". Yeah, that's gonna require you detach the audio, then do a slip on the video portion. No way around that.

Yeah that's what I was expecting... I was hoping for a workaround, but I guess I just have to live with it until it becomes a feature.
Thanks to all,

Does the open in timeline function not work for you?

Yes, I had forgotten about that. If you open a clip that is in a Timeline, you only alter that copy of the clip. The master clip, in the Browser, is unaffected. Problem is, you can't exactly compare in/out points during the Slip edit process, to your neighboring clips.
