Drobo 5n is altering FCPX Libraries was created by Daniel Rutledge
Does anyone else have experience with this?
If you copy a FCPX Library to the Drobo 5n, all the alias files in the library stop being aliases. The little redirect arrows disappear, and there is then no way to relink files. I also noticed that any color tags applied to the source files in finder are stripped off after the trip to the Drobo 5n.
Also, does anyone know if there is a way to work directly off of a NAS in FCPX?
BTW I did not choose this Drobo. I am trying to work with what is available here. I am intending to use the Drobo as an archive. Ideally, I could open projects stored on it, but at a minimum I need it to not destroy the functionality of libraries.
Thanks guys.

Hey Daniel,
Make sure that you use the NFS protocol to work with FCP X on the Drobo.
FCP X works perfectly with any kind of NAS, from prosumer boxes like QNap to enterprise-class NAS servers on complex fiber channel setups like the one we did at Swisss national television. So the problem is certainly not with FCP X.

I just had to work with Drobo RAIDs, and I HATE them. Even a Drobo T'bolt RAID is way too slow to edit off of. Not that this fixes anything, just hate them so much I can't keep my mouth shut.
