I'm so sorry to ask a question that has probably been asked a thousand times.
I installed FCPX on an external hard drive and I've been attempting to add motion templates. I cannot find the correct directory HOWEVER a few of them that I installed through some program are found. I figured that if I could find the directory where the ORIGINAL templates are, I'd be on my way to understanding the process. Any help would be appreciated. I've include an image.

FCPX shouldn't be insstalled 'somewhere'; just in your local drives 'Apps' folder.
(I deleted your triple posts, ok?)

In addition to what Karsten said about the FCP X application:
The Motion Templates folder must reside in your Movies folder, inside your home folder.
(and although it just appears to be named "Motion Templates", if you open the Get Info window for it you should see it is really called "Motion Templates.localized"; the same extension must be present in "Effects.localized", "Generators.localized", but NOT in the folders inside those)

question is: does a non-standard installed FCPX 'find' those folder...
@darell:
why did you install it external?
the 2.x GBs are no 'drive eater'; and the real monsters, Events, caches etc can all be external

I just tried copying FCP X to a nonstandard location. It started and it still found the titles, generators, etc, at their *standard* locations

Hey Karsten!
I think more than anything it was a rookie move. I was originally concerned about drive space.
