'Relink Files' won't mend 'Missing Proxy' was created by Joe Fonebone
I have numerous 'Missing Proxy' video files. No seperate audio files have been affected.
I select the missing proxy file then go to 'Relink Files'. I find the folder that file is in, the dialog box tells me that '1 of 1 files matched'. I then select 'Relink Files' and then.....nothing. The file remains with the 'Missing Proxy' warning.
Any help on this please? Cheers.

From my knowledge you can´t manually relink proxies.
Be careful not to relink your master files to the proxies generated by FCPX.
For audio files there is no proxy mode.
You could try to select the files with missing proxies and transcode them again. Sometimes FCPX will then relink to the already generated proxies, sometimes it will generate new ones.

For missing proxies, simply regenerate them. If they already exist, FCPX will simply relink. If they're missing for real, FXCPX will recreate them.

Thanks for the prompt and helpful replies.
I right clicked an Event and selected 'Transcode Media....' and the file became visible and usable again. Curiously I only had to do this for one Event for this to apparently cause all the other 'missing' proxies to reappear in other Events.
