Is this a known bug?

I just noticed when skimming or advancing frame by frame on first clip in timeline, I am hearing audio from a few seconds down in the timeline.
When I insert a generator in front of that first clip and then skim or advance frame by frame on that same clip (2nd now) the audio is correct.
When I playback the timeline however, the audio is sync in both cases.
Can anyone confirm this behaviour, before I submit a bug report to Apple?
I am running FCPX 10.2.3 on OSX 10.11.4.
27" iMac 5K late 2014 4GHz i7 32GB RAM
System drive 1 TB Flash
AMD Radeon R9 M295X 4096 MB Graphics
Decklink UltraStudio Express
48 TB G-Speed Studio XL RAID5
Thanks,
Robbert-Jan

Yes! I get this as well. Exactly the same thing. ( Running FCPX: 10.2.3 & OSX: 10.11.4 on a late 2013 MBP. ) I think it is a fairly recent bug because I don't recall it always being an issue in the past. I will check to see if this happens on my iMac as well when I'm in the office.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for confirming.
I can't remember too having seen this before. Very odd. And a little irritating when you want to trim the start of the first clip after you placed it in the timeline. Luckily there is the waveform for visual reference.

There was another thread about this. I have seen it for a while while some others say they don't see it.
I have reported it to Apple more than once so they are aware of it. The more reports they get the more likely they will fix it.
I have seen it on both Yosemite and El Capitan and in the last couple of versions of FCPX.
Audio in the browser also gets offset so that the waveform and actual audio don't match up. That usually happens at the end of a clip.
I really wish they would fix it once and for all.

Thanks Nick,
I must have missed that post.
I will report to Apple and fingers crossed that it will be fixed in the next update.
Cheers,
Robbert-Jan

Anickt's answer is spot on. This is definitely a bug that goes back a few versions. The priority to fix it might be a bit lower because as you say the exported video and audio remains synced, bit it is annoying in the editing phase.

If I need to edit audio close to the beginning of a project I drop a gap clip in ahead of the VO, do my edit and then delete the gap clip.
I've noticed that I used to be able to drop in the default 3 second gap but that no longer works and I have to make it 5 seconds. Sometimes I just edit by waveform and don't bother. Once past the first 3-5 seconds it doesn't happen any more.
Everyone who sees this issue needs to get on Apple about it and also the issue with audio not syncing with waveform in the browser. It's one of the few bugs I run across consistently in FCP X.
