I have a bunch of pictures where I would like to zoom in on them and change the rotation as I do so. I would also like them to start and stop softly. I can't change the rotation using the Ken Burns crop effect, but I can almost achieve it laying a key frame and resizing, but I get the clunky ending and no way to smooth it out. Hopefully I'm missing something. Not sure why this should be so hard. Do I need a plug-in to achieve this - and if so, what would you recommend? thx

I bet others will have better tips for achieving what you want natively but if you want to go the plugin route, this is the one I use :https://www.fcpeffects.com/collections/new-stuff/products/quick-easy-ken-burns-3

I think it will do everything you are asking, i.e. rotation, in/out rate control, etc.

The FCP Effects plugin mentioned is a great choice. There is also a free plugin on this site called "Ken Turns effect" that adds the lacking rotation. You can find that here : www.fcp.co/forum/simulated-effects/24837...t-zoom-rotate-in-out
Credit to Karsten for creating this.

Whoops - should have mentioned the "Ken Turns" effect that Karsten created. I use that one too.

Karsten is my idol.

Thanks everyone. I opted for the Quick & Easy Ken Burns 3 (although ing my world, very little is quick & easy!). I had the earlier version of this plug in, but this one works better for rotation. Very happy. thx!

I personally found that the Quick And Easy Ken Burns 3 plug-in unnecessarily complicated the process. I think the interface is not intuitive. I find myself using the old v02 of the plug-in for most simple push-ins and pull-outs - including one with rotation.
