CoreMelt releases new LUTs plugin for FCPX
www.coremelt.com/products/lutx.html?utm_...15&mc_eid=549ff42fce
Looks pretty interesting. Has some really nice features, - among them the best preview and before/after function I have seen until now. Includes camera specific LOG>rec709 Luts, 40 look LUTS (more to come and can import LUTs from other developers too. The price is nice too, - $29 as intro offer.

EDIT: Finally I could watch it! Looks REALLY interesting! And the introduction price is a steal! Would order immediately but no money on any of my cards. So hope the introduction price stays for a little while... Downloaded the demo in the meanwhile...

Bought it, - this is indeed a nice plugin.
Now you just have to add vectors and curves in an update and this is close to a perfect thing

But having tested LUTx, and now using the public version (I paid for a copy, so my upcoming review wouldn't be seen as tainted), I'm blown away. Super fantastic, and even when it goes up to full price, it is a real bargain.
Vectors, curves... "wheels"? And then call it GRADEx?

The workflow in LUTx are the best I have seen yet, - yes, and give us curves and vectors, - and maybe color wheels for those who like that
NB.: I think color wheels are hard to get right in a plugin GUI. I have seen FilmConverts solution too, - also crabbed and not very responsive. The best solution I have seen yet is how Hawaki Color has implemented the wheels as an overlay in the player. The wheels have the right size, are responsive in the right way and - very important I think - you can keep focus on what you are doing all the time. You even can get the wheels as overlay, when you go fullscreen in the player. That is really good. As always - your mileage may vary.

The plug-in looks amazing and before NAB is over I should have some money on my accounts, at $29 it really is a no-brainer even for a poor sod like meCoreMelt wrote: ok, sorry about that we have never experienced that problem with vimeo loading slowly. The videos will be on youtube as well shortly. Intro price will last until after NAB.

The biggest advantage of doing this way, instead of an effect layer, is it doesn't need to render. Click it on or off and no rendering. So it's not slowing me down at all to add the LUT while editing.
Does the CoreMelt plug in require rendering when applied to a clip? If you then move or edit/split the clip, does it need to re-rendered?
