re-generate multicam clip? was created by DmitriZigany
I did a multicam clip... Put it in the timeline and did all the edits. Then I wanted to add some resizing and realised I had made the multicam clip as 720p! Footage is 1080p and I made the project 720p just so I could resize things...
Is there a way to re-generate, or otherwise replace the multicam clip and retain the edits?

Hey Dmitri,
Select the multicam clip in the browser, then in the Inspector > Info tab press the Modify Settings button and in the Settings window, change the preset to 1080p.
Now when you look at the edited multicam clip on your timeline, you will see that all your edits have been preserved.
If the edits appear to be zoomed in, this is easy to solve with a little trick:
Group-select (CMD+A) the edits on your timeline. Then go to the Inspector > Video tab and first set Spacial Conform to "None", then change it to "Fit". Now all your cuts on the timeline should be correctly framed and you will be able to resize clips without any quality loss.

Thanks Ronny...
What a great tip, love the power of FCPX, I did not know multicam could be changed in terms of frame size. Great to know for the future!!

… and doesn't affect the 'file'-size ... it's all just 'internal data wrangling"
When I mix sources with diff. res and fps (which is 99% the case), I set the MC's format to the max res and fps of one source ... FCPX does the rest. e.g. when my project is 25fps, and I 'conform' native speed, the 25fps source stays 100%, the 50fps gets a nice slowmo ...
or, I mix diff. 'fits'/zooms of one source in a single MC, ...

@Ronny:
the none/fit trick is nice ...

Hello, Ronny and others!
As I see I can change a multicam's properties in the inspector, but when I select more than one multicam the Modify button becomes greyed out
Is there any way to change the resolution/frame size of all multicam at once?
(I have thousands of them in the project - it'll kill me if I need to change it manualy one by one)
