FCP X and CinemaDNG? was created by epdfilm
Did I miss something? Since when did FCP X and Compressor have the ability to import Blackmagic CinemaDNG RAW files?

It doesn't unless I've missed something too.

Well, I think we both missed it because CinemaDNG plays as an image sequence in Compressor and in FCP X you can import the frames and play as a compound clip

Nope, same as it ever was. Imports as an image sequence, not as a single video file, which it SHOULD. You can drop the image sequence into a timeline, and they simply play as a series of stills in order. Just like any other image sequence. Not how it should work, but as it has always worked.
And you can convert it in Compressor from an IS into a video file, as always. Just be sure you know what the original frame rate was, as Compressor sets a default that has nothing to do with what the camera recorded. Again, extra steps and time that are a joke.

Yes, it's always worked as individual images (at least since I first tested with my BMPCC when it first came out).
Shorty after that I talked to Steve Bayes about cDNG support. His response was "use ProRes." He wasn't interested in supporting cDNG.

You can read Cinema DNG with either program but neither of them recognize the RAW controls, so it treats them like JPEGs. This negates their value. Stick with Resolve or After Effects if you want access to color temp, ISO and other RAW attributes.
