awesome! 4k for interviews/1 clip 3x in a Multicam/faking angels 10 Mar 2016 05:36 #74209

not my idea, well documented by others (obligatory
rippletraining link
), just have to share my excitement:
lately recorded a book reading for a friend, using 4k. applied that same clip THREE times to a Multicam (plus two unmanned cameras and an ext audio recorder) : now, in the 720p Project, #1 is set to 'full screen', #5 and #6 are zoomed in by 200% and reframed hit play, clicking 1, 5, 6 switching btw 'angles' .... .... feeling like a pro in some live-broadcast truck! ![]() and editing blazing fast (double click L ...) |

This is great, thanks for sharing Karsten! Occasionally I edit single camera interviews shot in 1080p for a 720 timeline, and of course I punch in to cover jump cuts and add variety. I never thought of adding the "close-up" shots as a 2nd angle in a multicam clip. Will definitely be using this technique from now on

yep, first crazy, than great ![]() You can even apply transitions btw. both 'shots'. I prefer to inter-cut to some - here: unmanned - 'real' other cam, e.g. showing a very wide from a diff. view point.. makes it less obvious, that three cams are just one... ![]() And: you should have this trick in mind while recording, to let enough 'air' around your subjects. And: for sure you can fake pans too - Ken Burns, start/end same size but diff. positions..... |

This is what is really great about 2k, 3k, 4k 8k 50k
![]() Especially if editing a 1080 or 720 project. Amazing. Watching 4k on up on screen not as exciting as what can be done in post. |
