What’s the Best Way To Save/Backup a Project in FCPX was created by RayPaula
Hi, I would like to know the best way to save a project on a scratch drive and backup hard drive to save space? For example; Let’s say I'm editing a project that is about an hour long transcoded to Optimized ProRes 422 from 1080 or 4K. In this project I have done some color correction, effects, pictures, Chroma keying, transitions and music in either 1080 or 4K. So now I have a very large project/file to save which brings me to the following questions;
1) Can I save hard drive space by transcoding the project to Proxy ProRes, XML, etc.?
2) If I did save (as stated in #1) would I lose all my corrections made from the Optimized ProRes editing process? If not, would I be right to assume the project could then be re-transcoded to Optimized ProRes 422 without any loss to my edited project?
Any comments/tips would be most appreciated. Thanks, Ray
