Preferences window missing was created by paulojeveaux

A strange event with my FCPX 10.0.9. The preferences window disappeared. I click on preferences or use the shortcut (command,) and nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea what can be? I'm using a MacPro4.1 and OS X 10.8.5
Thanks.
