Quicktime 10 MXF Playback was created by gavinrawlings
Hi all
Sorry if this is posted in the wrong part of the forum.
Should Quicktime 10.4 play mxf files back with the latest Pro Video Formats (2.0.4)? If I try and play clips from my Sony F55 I get a "Quicktime Player can't open" error after the converting stage. With my Sony X70 it goes through the converting stage and then plays but its just a white screen. I can hear the audio however.
Cheers

Yes, it does, as I have just tested this with some old P2 mxf files. I can't speak for your cameras specifically but my test went through the same conversion process and then the movie came up and played fine (both video and audio).

QT 10 is not the best player for MXF. Try VLC or get Switch.

Interesting. I thought QuickTime would have supported XAVC playback since FCPX supports in natively... Oh well. No biggie, was just curious. Thanks.
